Mr Ward is a consultant on governance, structure and investment issues for charitable trusts and foundations, Indigenous corporations and other not-for-profit organisations.
He has written various trustee handbooks and lectures at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, on the governance and structure of charitable trusts. He was a member of the international panel that developed the Investment Management Code of Conduct for Foundations for the CFA Institute in 2010.
David has served as Treasurer on the Council of Philanthropy Australia (the philanthropic sector’s peak body) and is a non-executive director of two other charities. He is the Technical Director and a board member of Australian Philanthropic Services, a not-for-profit organisation supporting philanthropists and financial advisers.
Consulting clients include peak bodies, Indigenous corporations, public and private foundations and charitable trusts, companies and government departments.
David had 20 years’ experience as a senior financial market executive with ANZ, including as Chief Economist at ANZ (NZ), Head of Group Investor Relations and four years as CEO of ANZ Trustees.
