Mr Ward is a consultant on governance, structure and investment issues for charitable trusts and foundations. He has written various trustee handbooks and lectures on the governance and structure of charitable trusts at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.
He was a member of the international panel that developed the Investment Management Code of Conduct for Foundations for the CFA Institute in 2010.
Mr Ward is the Technical Director and a board member of Australian Philanthropic Services, a not-for-profit organisation supporting philanthropists and financial advisers. He served as Treasurer on the Council of Philanthropy Australia (the philanthropic sector’s peak body) for 10 years and has been a non-executive director of other charities.
Mr Ward had 20 years’ experience as a senior financial market executive with ANZ, including as Chief Economist at ANZ (NZ), Head of Group Investor Relations and four years as CEO of ANZ Trustees.
