Mr Lovell has developed a professional career as a senior executive and non-executive director with over 25 years’ experience in real estate, investment management, banking, risk management, corporate governance, management consulting and engineering.
He has also had extensive voluntary involvements in for-purpose enterprises in education and Indigenous Australia. Mr Lovell was most recently Deputy Head of St Paul’s College at the University of Sydney (2016-2019), having previously worked at Macquarie Group Limited (2001-2015) and Lend Lease Corporation (1997-2001). At Macquarie, Mr Lovell held a number of positions including Head of Commercial Property Lending and Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie ProLogis Trust, a property trust listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
Mr Lovell is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, was Chairman of the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) 2008-17, and is Honorary Secretary of the Council of Shore School.
He holds First Class honours degrees from the University of Sydney (in Civil Engineering) and the University of Oxford (in Philosophy, Politics and Economics).
